Emanuela Lacraru Thomas
I attended a high school for musicians, in my country (Romania). I graduated in 1998. My undergraduate degree is in violin performance, which I earned at the Conservatory in my country, and I graduated in 2003.
I have a DMA degree in Violin Performance, from LSU, with a minor in Music Education. I have an Ancillary Artist Certification.
I started teaching at MSA-West in 2014, and currently I teach Talented Instrumental Music. In the past school years, I have been teaching Elementary music, and a Beginning Orchestra class for sixth grade students. I also help the string students in the High School full orchestra prepare for their competitions.
I started teaching private violin students in 2005. Since then, I have taught students of diverse ages and levels in a one-on-one or very small group setting, at various schools of music and privately. I enjoy working with beginning level students, and help them discover the joy and excitement that playing a musical instrument can bring into their lives.
I am married to Mr. Lloyd Thomas, who is a high school Math teacher at MSA-West. We got married in 2006. We have a dog, who is a pug and was named the word “doggy” in Romanian.
